Data Center Architecture

Data center architecture is the physical and logical layout of the resources and equipment within a data center facility.

It serves as a blueprint for designing and deploying a data center facility. It is a layered process which provides architectural guidelines in data center development.

Data center architecture is usually created in the data center design and constructing phase. The data center architecture specifies where and how the server, storage networking, racks and other data center resources will be physically placed.

It also addresses how these resources/devices will be interconnected and how physical and logical security workflows are arranged.

Typically, data center architecture consists of or incorporates:

• Data center network architecture.
• Data center computing architecture.
• Data center security architecture.
• Data center physical architecture.
• Data center information architecture.

Main elements to which attention must be paid

For instance, a good acclimatization design provides high energy saving. Electrical and data infrastructure must be built envisaging future expansions of any planned network architecture. In particular, floor, ceiling, and wall applications have direct impact on operational conditions of systems planned in a system control room. Fire-resistant partitions and wall panels, suspending ceiling and floor covering, paint, plaster, and impermeability works are practiced as per internationally recognized project principles.

In order to have advantage in the long run, first planning and designing must be carried out properly by expert teams. Organizations or institutions must be warned regarding to disaster prevention systems, security and monitoring solutions that may be installed at small costs against contingencies, and the most adequate design as per price vs. efficiency must be implemented.

Sections of a data center

• Raised floors
• Electric power systems & power boards
• Data center cabinet systems
• Fire detection systems
• Gaseous fire extinguishing systems (FM200)
• High precision air conditioning (HPAC) systems
• Fire-resistant door and wall applications
• Electronic security systems

Raised Access Flooring

A raised floor is a data center construction model in which a slightly higher floor is constructed above the building's original concrete slab floor, leaving the open space created between the two for wiring or cooling infrastructure.

Access floors were designed specifically for computer rooms. Here are several reasons: • distribute heavy weights equally
• manage the wires around computer equipment and offer a safe environment for personnel (no tripping)
• manage airflow to sensitive equipment
• provide grounding
• service outlets cut-in easy
• provide the needed flexibility for ever changing hi-tech rooms

Aisle Containment

The Aisle Containment System is a modular row-based thermal containment solution, which separates cold and hot air from equipment to data center. It manages airflow at the source, increases the cooling efficiency and decreases operating costs.

Most parts of the aisle containment components are designed by modular, which allows quick deployment on site and address changing needs or future expansion with pay-as-you grow architecture.

Flip design on roof ceiling, to be connected with fire protection through intelligent control box. The roof ceiling will automatically open, when fire signal received. And fire-extinguishing gas will come into aisle, without conflict to the existing fire protection system.

FM 200

Waterless FM-200 system is designed to stop fires in seconds, meaning less overall damage, repair costs and increased safety while preserving a low level of downtime and business disruption for both our clients and our own business.

FM-200 (Heptafluoropropane) is also a safe, clean agent that won’t harm people, the environment or cause collateral damage to technical equipment. Unlike a typical fire extinguisher, the agent doesn’t leave any residue after deployment. Claiming to be EPA-approved and with a low atmospheric lifetime with no potential to deplete the ozone layer, the system is ideal for our data center.

FM-200 system is typically used on historical sites, and places in which minimal damage is required in the event of a fire, including museums, archive rooms, art galleries, medical facilities, etc.
